Inspired By…Drinking Tea

The challenge from Get It Scrapped!: Make a page that's about the act of having coffee or tea. Since coffee makes me gag, tea it is. I do love tea. This page is about my winter afternoon snack routine. I enjoy documenting everyday life, especially habits that change with the seasons.

I used the Scrapbook Coach class, "Three Acts" to help this page come together quickly. This is the design with three clusters. There are other lessons using three in a row, three columns and blocked with three. Very useful.

You can see what the rest of the team did with this challenge in the full article.

Check out the Get It Scrapped Membership! It combines Masterful Scrapbook Design's magazine format and live design conversations with the hands-on video tutorials of Scrapbook Coach in one all-access pass. The newest Masterful Scrapbook Design class ebook, Photo Play, is ready for members with 10 live events scheduled during March and April on the topic.

My Scrapbook Process: 3 Columns

The challenge from Get It Scrapped!: Make a page in which all (or almost all) of your page elements are arranged in 3 columns. This page is about our 2013 summer mini vacation and how we celebrated my birthday.

I initially defined the columns with photos and 4x3 pocket page cards, starting with our day on Lake Huron and ending with my birthday dinner.

The layering behind the columns is designed to ground elements to the kraft background and break borders.

The embellishing on top decorates each compartment and moves the eye around the page. You can see what the rest of the team did with their 3 columns here

Three columns is just one way to use a foundation of threes. Check out Debbie's class, Scrapbook Coach Three Acts, for more ideas and examples!

Something Pretty Exciting

The Spring issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today is getting ready to ship on March 21st, which is pretty exciting news all by itself. But I was blown away when I received the email saying my layout had been chosen for the cover!

Does that gorgeous cover make you long for spring or what? The content of this magazine is always outstanding. If your local scrapbook store does not carry Scrapbook & Cards Today, you can subscribe (for postage and handling only!) or download any issue online for FREE! Here's more information.

I'll be back later this week with a design team layout. After I climb down off cloud nine, where I've been floating for most of the weekend.
