Using Patterned Paper Scraps on a Scrapbook Layout

The October Gallery is up over at Write.Click.Scrapbook.!  This month's theme is Happy Scraps. All the posts at WCS for the next 31 days will be about making use of what you have. Shopping your stash and being inspired even if you haven't been shopping lately. Sounds good!

Collection Featured: Jillibean Soup Cold Avocado Soup
My layout was created with leftover strips of patterned paper die cut into a 9-square grid using Lori Whitlock's Square Background Shapes from the Silhouette store. Then it was just a matter of filling in the shapes! The quotes about reading say:

  • "I often feel sorry for people who don't read good books; they are missing a chance to lead an extra life."
  • "Just the knowledge that a good book is awaiting one at the end of a long day makes the day happier."

Aren't those great? You can find more inspiration from the rest of the team right here

  1. Love the grid design!
That is me right now. I just placed one last big order with Paper Issues and now I am ready to go on as spending freeze and use my stash for the next year!!

  2. Love this, Sue. Both the journaling, and I agree, and design. I have dome layouts planned that have a good number of photos and I can see something like this working. Definitely a great idea to use up the scraps too. Lately I've been punching hexagon and circles and using alphabet stamps for little sayings for some home made embellishments. Thanks for sharing, the gallery looks awesome. Michelle t

  3. I love this! I often use grid designs, but I love how each one has a different corner or border. Super cute!! :)

  4. Nice page. Love the grid layout and the stitching around the border.
