Arranging Four Photos on A Scrapbook Layout

For some reason, placing four photos on a scrapbook layout is a challenge for me. I tend to fall back on cropping the photos into squares all the same size and arranging them in a grid. Not that there's anything wrong with that. I bet I'm not the only one who does it.

For the June Gallery at Write.Click.Scrapbook.!, I took inspiration from Amy Coose's Number of Photos Week from this past April. My layout uses four photos, but they are different sizes: a 4x6 focal point photo and three supporting photos that are 3x3, 3.25x3.25 and 3x3. It's a new way for me to think about working with an even number of pictures. Now, instead of seeing four photos, the eye sees a single photos and a group of three.

This month's theme for the entire gallery is Best of Year 5. You can find more inspiration from the rest of the team right here. How do you like to arrange four photos on your scrapbook layouts?

  1. I always love your pages when you fill in the windows of the background like this. I must try that technique. I rarely use four photos on a page, and when I get up to 3, you can bet they will be in a band horizontally or vertically.

  2. What a fun layout! Love the background!

  3. This looks great - definitely a FUN way to scrap four photos!

  4. What a great layout to break away from your norm!

  5. This is great inspiration! Love the filled in spaces on the background!

  6. Like the arrangement and all the die cutting. Great page!
