My Scrapbook Process: Bracket Design

The latest challenge from Get It Scrapped!: Make a page with a BRACKET foundation. I took ideas from the Scrapbook Coach Bracket Class videos and combined them to create my layout.

This page is about a special friendship.  First, I selected the photo and added a double mat.

After building the horizontal and vertical arms of the bracket, I cut a large circle to fill in the space between them. The circle softens the design and is symbolic of our circle of friendship.

I used the bracket/circle/photo combination as a guide to prepare the background with mist and stamping.

To complete the page, I added the title and journaling, then embellished with red accents in a visual triangle around the photo. Love that pop of unexpected color! You can see what the rest of the team did with their bracket designs here.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!
I'm now able to share why the blog has been slightly dormant lately. My husband accepted a job offer and we will be relocating from Michigan to central Ohio. Back to my beloved Buckeye state! The move will place us closer to family, and especially closer to that adorable granddaughter who is coming in April. Our tentative move date is early April, and I have so much to do between now and then.

So, I will be posting design team projects, but probably not much else for a while. I have already been terrible about commenting on your blogs, and that sadly will need to continue for a time. I just can't do it all, and greatly appreciate your understanding.

I will also be dismantling and re-assembling my scrap room in April. That should be an adventure, and I will share the process in words and photos right here. Thanks for sticking around during this transitional time in my life!
