Go To Designs: Cluster

Welcome to this month's edition of Go To Designs! Today I'm taking on the cluster. Love this design and all that can be done with it! Here's a few examples from my albums.

A little misting in the background, a combination of patterned paper, Thickers, buttons and chipboard, finished off with a side border. A great recipe that can be used over and over with different results every time.

When you create with texture and dimension, almost any resulting cluster will be visually interesting. Even if my favorite ingredient (patterned paper) is sparse.

Here I used leftover bits of paper all cut to the same size and had fun with the patterns and textures. Clusters definitely have a playful side.

This cluster is grounded to the page by placing it on a Silhouette die cut background. With their irregular edges and little nooks and crannies, clusters create interesting white space on the page.

Collection Featured: Basic Grey Persimmon
Brand New Layout! As usual, I have created a Pinterest board just for the cluster design. Here is my latest YouTube video about the making of this page. What about you? Are you crazy for clusters?

This series was inspired by the Layout Issue at Masterful Scrapbook Design.

  1. Love this design arrangement. I particularly like the Whoops layout. It is such fun! A great way to use decorative buttons. Like the stitching on your fall layout page, too.

  7. Soooooo much inspiration on one post! Thanks for sharing your Pinterest board, which I am now following. I can't wait to come back this weekend and check it out. Clustering is my fave way to embellish pages. You have shown so many great examples here. The one with the cut squares of patterned paper is so playful and fun. Love the layout of you and DH, great "then and now" pics!
