About the Weather

My assignment for Get It Scrapped!: Make a page about the weather. This page is about my love of the changing seasons. One of the many reasons I enjoy living in the midwest is experiencing winter, spring, summer and fall year after year. The predictability of the seasons is familiar and comforting, sometimes frustrating, but never boring.

I associate colors with each season: blue for winter, green for spring, red for summer and light brown for fall. Each scalloped circle includes an appropriate motif: the snowflake, butterfly, flower and maple leaf all represent their respective season.

Have you ever scrapped about the weather? It could provide background for a story, or become the story itself. If the weather where you live affects your daily life, or your mood, maybe it deserves a page or two in your albums!

  1. Love how you scrap this and the papers and colors used.

  2. Love your season embellishments and row of tags. The wooden birds are so cute. I've been thinking of doing a LO on how we can't rely on this seasonal rhythm any longer. It's half way through April and we've only just got rid of the snow.

  3. Sadly our weather in the UK seems to have been very drab over the past few years and seasons aren't defined. But I love what you've done here, and I'm forever hopeful this will be a good summer, so maybe I'll do something like this :)

  7. I have! Some people might remember the buzz about the world supposedly ending according to the Mayan calendar recently. We had TERRIBLE weather that day, so I took a photo of the view out my window. I made a page about how it really did look like the end of the world and explained the story behind it. It was a fun page to make and kind of commemorates history (sort of like a modern version of when "War of the Worlds" was read over the radio).

  8. I've scrapped the seasons themselves, but not the weather in particular. It's a great idea though. I just love what you did with the tags at the top of this page, adding in the cute little birds. Wonderful design as always and great diecut work too!

  10. All of your elements make this a wonderful composition. I particularly love the different colors for each season and the little hearts to signify your love of changing seasons. I have done pages about snowfall as it is a big event here. We typically have one good snow a year at most. This year just a lot of flurries and dustings.
