On Saturday mornings we like to head downtown to the Farmers' Market. After making a few purchases of whatever is in season, we cross the street to a little cafe for breakfast. I usually order sour creme coffee cake and chai tea, while Phil favors the broccoli quiche. The cooler morning weather and sights of people out and about get our weekend off to a great start!
Supply List: Patterned Paper, Alphabet, Border Stickers, Butterflies: Pebbles Sunny Side Collection Smaller Alphabet: Jillibean Soup Design from Sketches for Scrapbooking, Volume 5 |
- The photos provide so much color that my job was to choose products to complement and not compete with them
- The separate photo groups show the flowers and produce on the LH page and the delightful spinning lady on the RH page
- I hadn't scrapped in about a week when I sat down to make this page, so choosing a sketch and coordinated product line meant I could get to work quickly
- Limiting my choices kept prep time to a minimum and helped me not over think the process so I could jump right into being creative again
What are the local places you visit regularly? Next time you're there, take a few photos and record the details. These are the types of pages that will trigger memories later, especially if you leave the community at some point. The rest of the Get It Scrapped! article can be seen here.
What a great farmers market! That yarn lady looks so interesting. I am surprised that she has a 10% off sale...knitting is so big right now!!!
ReplyDeleteYour layout is great...love the paper choices and the butterflies.
you really do a great job with sketches! super!!
ReplyDeletebeautiful 2 pager Sue... you nailed it!!! hugs...xoxo
ReplyDeleteSounds like such a fun tradition to go with your shopping. I like those butterflies and the corrugated letters adding texture to your pages. P.S. Loved your comment on my blog about growing your Washi stash 'responsibly.' I think that is a key word in this hobby.
ReplyDeleteThose are such happy colorful photos. We haven't been to the Farmer's Market in a while - it's a little bit of a drive, but I have taken photos from there & scrapped them before. Each month we visit an antiques market - I've taken photos the last few times, so I guess now I need to get that place recorded in my scrapbooks.
ReplyDeleteI love doing everyday moments pages like these! :) This is beautiful! Love those butterflies!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great page, Sue!
ReplyDeleteSo love those butterflies!
I have actually done two pages I think about our Farmer's Market.
Also the Botanical Gardens here are amazing, so a couple of pages for that :)

ReplyDeleteBrilliant! Love this so much!
ReplyDeleteawesome 2 pager!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat pages Sue! I am finally begin to realize that the best kept secret about scrapbooking is not to overthink it! Some of my best pages come from working quickly, and overthinking it often leads me to an "overdone" page. I really like that you've added the design notes to your posts.
ReplyDeleteThis is such an amazing page, Sue!! Awesome choice of colors...they are so bright and fun! And I love the way you arranged your photos on this one!
ReplyDeleteWow, this is wonderful! I love the array of colours and yet its not so bright as to detract from everything else.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I LOVE Farmer's Markets too. You've really shown the beauty in everyday objects with these lovely colors and design. Great idea starter for a page. You've inspired me to grab my camera the next time we go for a walk in our town park.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun, happy 2-pager! I love the butterfly embellishments. They make me smile. :)
ReplyDeleteThese colors are so vibrant, gorgeous
