My first layout for Get It Scrapped! recently appeared in an article titled "8 Ideas for Embellishing Scrapbook Pages with Circles". There are great examples by Kelly Purkey, Celeste Smith, Sara Gleason, Lynette Penacho, Doris Sander and Kim Watson, so I would encourage you to check out that article. Here's how my page came together.
First, kraft cardstock and a border of patterned paper strips.
Next, a selection of 6x6 patterned paper from Echo Park and some white cardstock.
Paired with the orange squares, I had colorful little compartments to house my photos, words and embellishments.
An older layout of mine appeared in the article, "Scrapbook Page Composition: Ideas for Arranging Your Elements in a Grid". If grids are near and dear to your heart like they are mine, you'll enjoy this article, too. Happy Monday crafting!

Using my Cuttlebug and pinking circles, I cut the white cardstock with a smaller die, the yellow polka dot patterned paper with a larger die, matted the negative spaces and backed them with a light blue stripe.

ReplyDeleteFantastic page. I love how you used the pinked edge - a creative change from smooth or scalloped circles. I also like how your photos sit outside the grid at an angle to create more visual interest. That is a wonderful article with lots of ideas. I've bookmarked it.
