October Afternoon 9 to 5: Not Just for Work

I was going to take a pass on October Afternoon's 9 to 5 collection until I saw it in person. (how many times have I done that??) I loved the colors and all the extras in this line, and before I knew it I was handing over my credit card.
I added a few items from my stash and got to work making some pages.

First up, a fun little grid design to go with these goofy photos from Thanksgiving. This is my go-to technique when I have several smaller photos of different sizes.
Love the letters and numbers sheet that comes with the collection!

Next, a page for our Greenfield Village album. Great color palette for fall pages! I had lots of fun playing with the matting and stitching for the photo.
A little cluster of embellishments from the flower sack, topped with a few brads. Fast and easy!

This third layout was inspired by this post on the October Afternoon blog. I took inspiration from Kim's color palette to create the only page that was actually about work!
I shamelessly copied Kim's title work. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, after all!
Since the polaroid look is in these days, I felt totally cool using an actual one taken many, many years ago. What a handsome guy!
And I tried my first mask misting. I like the way it turned out.

Do you have a scrapping collection you almost passed by, but are glad you didn't? Or maybe you resisted the urge to purchase and now regret it?

Love that dark wood grain paper and how you used it for a "fall" layout!

  5. Great pages, Sue! The photos in the first layout crack me up. Now, I thought this line looked fun online but when I saw it in person, I HAD to have some of it. I didn't get the whole collection but many of the B-side patterns are universal. I do plan a working layout or two with some of the themed papers, but the rest of them will be good for anything! :)

  6. Those are terrific pages, Sue. I especially love the Fall page. Beautiful. I got this collection, too. I probably won't use it for work, but I love everything OA. Their B sides rock!

  9. Love the layouts Sue. I have done the thing, planning on skipping a certain collection and then changing my mind once I see it! Argh!!! But it looks like you made a wise decision!

  10. You've gotten a lot of great variety from that collection! With no local scrapbook store closer than about 50 miles, I don't get to see much in person. Visiting blogs like yours really helps!

  11. Wow, you are really getting alot of scrapping done! Great pages. I especially like the fall photo and papers/embellishments that you used for that one. Beautiful. I could have passed on Pebbles "Country Picnic" line but when I received some to design with I really liked it. Especially like the print "masking tape" stickers that coordinate.

  13. LOVE what you did with this line. Some of the papers remind me of old Scenic Route. Lots of fall colors in there. I tend to use th B sides of their paper.
