Take Twelve: June 2012

The theme for this month's dozen photos is A Neighborhood Walk. The Take Twelve Guided Inspiration Kit suggests compiling a visual field guide of familiar sights, so we took a camera on one of our summer evening bike rides.

How I wish I had a layout like this for all the places we've lived during our 31-years-on-Wednesday marriage! (like how I snuck that in?) Places do change over time and scenes that we take for granted now will one day become precious memories. Almost all of my supplies for this page came from American Crafts Amy Tangerine Sketchbook line. I'm having so much fun with this collection!

You can view more Take Twelve layouts under the Take Twelve in 2012 tab located below my blog header. Have you captured the everyday scenes in your neighborhood or community? Summer is the perfect opportunity to make a page like this!

Two-Page Tuesday: Clean and Colorful

Just a short post today featuring my latest two-page layout. As always, I chose a sketch from the Sketches for Scrapbooking volumes. My supplies include Jillibean Soup's Neopolitan Bean Bisque collection, cloud punches and American Crafts Thickers.

These photos bring enough color to the page for my taste, so I kept the paper and embellishments simple. The primary color palette is vibrant and cheerful. The title work with a mixture of fonts and colors is a favorite eye-catching technique. I am really happy with this layout. Sometimes simple is the best!

I'm finishing up my first round of assignments for Get It Scrapped! and Easy Scrapbook Pages. Can't wait to share them with you, beginning in July!

#8. This layout. I want to scraplift the washi tape border.

#9. This kitten. Such a complete cutie.

#10. This basement. We want to finish ours and I will just about anything to avoid a drop ceiling.

Ten Things on the 10th: Participants will share something totally of their own creation - but always ten things. Some will share ten photos, ten crafty ideas, ten sources of inspiration, ten recipes, ten things in a collection... always ten things and always on the tenth of the month. October Afternoon 9 to 5: Not Just for Work

I was going to take a pass on October Afternoon's 9 to 5 collection until I saw it in person. (how many times have I done that??) I loved the colors and all the extras in this line, and before I knew it I was handing over my credit card.
I added a few items from my stash and got to work making some pages.

First up, a fun little grid design to go with these goofy photos from Thanksgiving. This is my go-to technique when I have several smaller photos of different sizes.
Love the letters and numbers sheet that comes with the collection!

Next, a page for our Greenfield Village album. Great color palette for fall pages! I had lots of fun playing with the matting and stitching for the photo.
A little cluster of embellishments from the flower sack, topped with a few brads. Fast and easy!

This third layout was inspired by this post on the October Afternoon blog. I took inspiration from Kim's color palette to create the only page that was actually about work!
I shamelessly copied Kim's title work. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, after all!
Since the polaroid look is in these days, I felt totally cool using an actual one taken many, many years ago. What a handsome guy!
And I tried my first mask misting. I like the way it turned out.

Do you have a scrapping collection you almost passed by, but are glad you didn't? Or maybe you resisted the urge to purchase and now regret it?
