Playing with Color: American Crafts Chap

The American Crafts Chap collection is a bit older, but you can still buy it online here. I really like the palette; rich colors that are not too bright.
Here are the A sides of my papers....
...and the B sides. I challenged myself to combine the colors in completely different ways to create variety on my two layouts about our time in Connecticut.

Cream, yellow and red was the color palette for this page, with a few black accents. Adding in the black is a go-to technique for me. I use it all the time.

I made my own embellishments using my Cuttlebug and circle cutter. Emboss, cut, ink and assemble!

I went with traditional red, white and blue for this page. Seemed appropriate for a quaint New England town, but does not scream patriotic. I like that.

I did not make these cute pinwheels...
...but I did make this little embellishment to fill in the top of the page after my title. What are you scrapping this week? Are you challenging yourself in any way?

  4. This is a fun collection! Love how you only pulled out a few of the colors for the first one and then went with the reds and blues for the second one. I love to give myself little challenges. In fact, I think I need to add embossing with the cuttlebug to my list of things to do, now that it's unpacked. Love the look of your embossed accent! :)

  12. I've taken a break from scrapping so far this week to catch up on things around the house after a busy month of May. However . . . it's rainy & dreary here today and I think a little time in my craft room this afternoon might just be the ticket to brightening up the day! :>)
