I love Shimelle's Starting Point series, but confess I've rarely used one of her examples. Instead, I take my scraps and come up with my own starting points, like I did here with what's left of my Echo Park This and That Charming collection.
From this starting point, I added my photos, title and journaling.
A few embellishments later, and the page is finished!
It's pretty convenient that I have some products that were a great fit for a page about Phil's recent interest in wood working. Actually, he's always been interested, and now finally has some time and discretionary income to pursue this hobby.
The background paper, title letters and buttons all have a wood theme. I am especially loving the wooden buttons that are available now. I totally see myself stocking up on these!
So far, Phil's woodworking projects have found a place in my scrap room! He made these table easels a while back, and recently completed this little project to store my ink pads. Notice I have slots that still need to be filled...
But his next project is much bigger and very exciting. It's almost completed I can't wait to share it with you!
Great LO for a great hobby. My Dad rekindled his woodworking when he retired - even tried his hand at carving a linen fold panel. And I have a couple girlfriends who've done it too. One even made her own bed!
ReplyDeleteGreat LO for these pics..can't wait to see the latest project!

ReplyDeleteGreat layout! Shimelle is one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteGreat starting point! I couldn't for the life of me create a page base without knowing what photos will be going on top!
ReplyDeleteMadeline, I did know what photos I was going to use, just not exactly where they were going to go. The first time I tried this it was a bit scary, but now I love it! There's so much freedom!
DeleteI love your layout and how you were able to pull the wood theme through so many items.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely project! What's the betting you'll be asking for a few paper trays next? I love the wooden buttons and that wood paper. Perfect
ReplyDeleteGreat to see the before photos and after--- what a difference. Love it.
