Step #1: Sketched a basic design and jotted down some ideas on this grid paper, available from Stampin' Up!
Step #2: Laid out my grid of rectangular photos. Everything else will fit around this grouping.
Step #3: Filled in the page with patterned paper, title, journaling. I used a border punch on the patterned paper so all the edges are not so straight. Now it's time to introduce a few new shapes to further soften the lines a bit.
Step #4: Added some border strips in a visual triangle, introduced a star shape, added a brad. Almost finished.

Choosing a basic shape helps me get a page started. Rectangles, squares and circles are my favorite. Do you think about shapes when you scrap?
neat simple and indeed beautiful layout... love the colors too... Awesome.... hugs...xoxo

ReplyDeleteLove how you built your photos collage and then fit your papers and embellishments around it. Lately, I've been into circle embellishments. I'm a little late to the party but still enjoying them.

ReplyDeleteFun layout!
ReplyDeleteI am a math and a computer geek so I love the oh-so-trendy hexagons and I have always been in love with circles or geometric looking flowers (like spyrographs). I am all about the geometrics really :P
Love all the bright colors! I love to scrap with square photos, but love to add in circles to soften things up when needed. Love that you added some hand stitching too. :)
ReplyDeleteTFS! Love your LO ..it gave me the inspiration(i.e. I have unashamedly scraplifted it!-hope you don't mind?) for a LO I was really struggling with!
ReplyDeleteAlison xx
What a great layout & it looks like it was a fun party!
ReplyDeleteGreat peek at your process -- I also think about shapes, but more in terms of balancing them out -- straight lines with non-straight, etc. Love your details!
