Sketch Support Two-Page Week

I have the honor of being the Guest Designer over at Sketch Support this month! You can download and print this sketch for free right here.

I think Allison's two-page sketches are my favorite. I rarely attempt a two-page layout without referring to the Sketch Support blog or one of her volumes of Sketches for Scrapbooking. With eight books of two-pages sketches available, I always have plenty to choose from! Since we take so many vacation photos, these tend to be the subject of my two-page layouts.

I stayed pretty close to the sketch for this one. Just a few minor tweaks.
Variation #1: used clouds instead of hearts and changed the placement of embellishments
Variation #2: omitted one of the suggested paper strips in the vertical lines
Variation #3: shortened my journaling block and added more patterned paper strips
Variation #4: substituted four 2x3 photos for the six 2x2 photos, separated with paper strips

Journaling reads: "We toured every inch of Biltmore, inside and out, that we were allowed to explore. First, we went on the main tour and then took two of the specialty tours. No photos were allowed inside, so Phil took extra time to capture the stunning stone work and detailed architecture on the facade. Meanwhile, I returned inside for one more tour of rooms not available on the main tour. Between the two of us, I think we had it covered! Spring 2011"

  10. Great layout with this sketch Sue. I will often scroll through the sketches at SketchSupport.com when I'm looking for idea also. These past few weeks I've been working on 2-page sketches from the BPC Double Take workshop which has been a lot of fun.

Catching up on some blog reading today - I'm signed up for Shimelle's new class! We've had some cooler days, but I certainly wouldn't call our weather cold yet. We've been busy cheering on our Texas Rangers to the World Series.
