This is the fourth and final week of Summer Card Camp. I've enjoyed the class very much and would definitely sign up for a sequel. Here is our color palette for the week:
The class blog described this combo as pear green, teal, tranquil turquoise, sky blue and crisp white. I just hunted for 2 shades of green and 2 shades of blue that were in the ball park. Close enough is good enough for me!
After choosing paper, I decided to play with shapes and created 3 card backgrounds using a rectangle, a border punch and my Creative Memories hexagon punch.
Then I layered the greeting and clouds on top, finished some outline work with a black pen on two of the cards, and called it done. No fancy techniques here.
Since I am primarily a scrapper, keeping my cards colorful and simple works well for me. I don't want to spend more than an evening coming up with a set of cards. How about you - how much time and technique are you willing to invest in your card making endeavors?

:) I too am primarily a scrapbooker. I'm happy to labor for hours over one layout. But a card... if it's not done in say 15 or 20 minutes I start to feel like I'm wasting good scrapbooking time. BTW, these cards are fabulous! LOVE the hexagon punch! I need to get my hands on one of those!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous, Sue! Some of my very favorite colors and you really showed them off well. The clouds are a great touch and now I wish I hadn't sold that CM hexagon punch on Ebay. Glad you enjoyed card camp!
ReplyDeleteI put quite a bit of time into many of my cards but I usually make several of the same card for my stash, my Mothers and my OWH box.
Love these cards! Very cheerful.
ReplyDeleteNow those are great cards! I love the colors. I am a scrapper who has become a card maker...some days I'm more devoted to cards because they're so much easier for me to make. I can go a week without doing one single layout...yes I feel guilty! :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely LOVE those cards! Super cute and the colors are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun cards & each unique! I've enjoyed making my cards this year, but I'm like you - I don't want it to take too long!
ReplyDeleteLove how you used the same papers to create three different but equally awesome cards!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm more a scrapbooker so I really use my scraps for cards.
hey sue--love them! they are all so fun!
ReplyDeleteoh i can spend an hour easy on just one card if i am embossing or coloring etch--i love to do cards!--well i just love paper crafting!
What a fun color scheme! Makes me think of lemonade at the beach! Beautiful job!
ReplyDeleteWOW this is so pretty... I love it SUE...I can see you are having a ball!!! Awesome.... hugs...xoxo
ReplyDeleteLove these both. Now you have convinced me I need that die! Great cards.
ReplyDeletevery clever - like your ideas! is the cloud a punch?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards, love the papers and colours you used, so fresh and summery. Sometimes I can spend a couple of hours making one card but I have started making more C.A.S. which may only take 15 minuites. Two extremes really.xxx
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the colors. So fresh and bright. Love the hexagons. I need to pick up a die like that somewhere..... I try not to spend a whole lot of time on cards - I don't do a lot of embellishing to them either - I save the good stuff for my scrapbooks! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the cards! Using the hexagon punch is genius! I think I have those somewhere...going to have to dig those out and use them!! You are going to have a great collection of cards!
ReplyDeleteOoooo! Your take on the color challenge is amazing! Both cards are fabulous. The hexagon card--it really caught my eye in the gallery. Love the little clouds!
ReplyDeletebeautful cards! love your mix of pattern papers! congrats on being student spotlight!
ReplyDeleteYou already know I love my cards as much as my layouts -- yours are so fabulous, too! These colors are great.
