I recently applied for the Creative Team Call over at Sketch Support. This blog is one of my favorites. Love the weekly printable sketches and all the design team inspiration. Add Allison's wonderful tips and you're getting a high quality sketch class for free! I've collected all 7 volumes of her books, Sketches for Scrapbooking. Needless to say, I'm a fan.
Here are the three sketches I chose and my submissions. I stayed close to the original on this two-page layout. The design was so much fun, I really didn't want to change a thing.
I don't often stamp right on the layout, but with a little careful pre-planning, it worked out very nicely. Adding that journaling technique to my creative toolbox.
The title work and the star tags. Using only three larger photos left plenty of room for creative space, yet the layout is not too crowded. I'm also a fan of white space.
In this second sketch, I took a few more liberties, but nothing drastic. The whole design is placed off-center and the title moved to the space between the two larger photos.
The card sketch inspired me to head in a different direction. Instead of candles, this graduation card features a row of diplomas. I repeated the stripe and expanded the message.
Whether I make the Creative Team or not, I had fun using these sketches. Do sketches inspire your creativity? How do you like to adapt sketches to fit your scrapping needs?
