Counterfeit Kit Layouts

While using my Counterfeit Kit this month, I had three goals in mind:
#1 - mixing patterned paper from different manufacturers.
(Echo Park For the Record and Fancy Pants It's the Little Things)
          #2 - using smaller photos
#3 - working with lots of patterned paper and cutting it into smaller pieces
Sometimes a black background is so perfect, and this one really makes me happy! There's nothing like black to make colors pop.
I'm on a bit of a kick to scrap my childhood photos. The smaller size and black and white make them a change from my usual 4x6 color pictures. I like the challenge.
I'm pleased with all these pages, so this style should be something I return to in the future. How about you: are there a few go-to design elements that you lean towards when you scrap? Please share!

  3. Well I've been using a lot of white backgrounds lately, but you have persuaded me that I should be looking at using black ones too.

  4. Ooh, love the little-Sue layouts! I think those two lines look great together -- nice choices! Love the tape accents too.

I'm finding myself using lots of patterned backgrounds lately, though normally I love a nice, solid kraft bg -- must be a phase!

  6. I've never used black but maybe I should as yours looks great! The grid style you saw on my blog was a new one for me but again seeing it here has convinced me to use it more. Your layouts are really beautiful.

  7. Great layouts! Love the mixing of mfg paper lines. Awesome that you are scrapping your childhood photos! I love to use black backgrounds or white backgrounds when i need to make the colors pop. Love how you lined everything down the center in Little Me. That's a layout design that will work every time. :)

  8. Sue, these are great layouts. Do you have your older photos scanned or are you using originals? I have mine in a storage binder and want to start scrapping them soon . . .just might have to stop back by and scraplift one or two of these. :)

  11. What great goals! You've stretched yourself creatively with these pages with terrific results. Love the smaller cuts of paper and how you did your accents.
My challenge is photo size. I seem determined to fit as many and as large a photos on my pages as possible. I'd like to work on that.
