WOYWW - Playing Hooky

Normally I would be posting a photo of my craft table, but that would be completely boring today, as it is totally empty. Zip. Zilch. Nada. But I have a good excuse. I spent a few hours yesterday with some good friends at Treasure Mart, a downtown consignment shop. Plenty of stuff to see in here and much more interesting than my bare scrap space.
Confession: I am not a a flea market shopper. Too much stuff and I'm not really into vintage. Just wanted to hang out with my girlfriends. So I took my little camera to keep myself amused. Tried to pretend I knew what I was doing.
And then I saw this from across the room.
A curio cabinet that would be perfect in my dining room and rescue my glass pieces from storage oblivion in the basement.
What do you think? Should I go back and snatch this up before someone else does?

"What's On Your Workday Wednesday" is a weekly event where over one hundred crafters show and tell what's going on in their corners of the world. You can go to Julia's blog for more glimpses of our creative endeavors.

  1. That curio is great but being the super thrifty person that I am, I have to suggest you check the furniture listings on Craigslist.com first - I find AWESOME deals there and I see curios like this for under $75 all the time (at least in my area).

  2. That looks like a great shop - there is actually room to move around. I love the cluttered look of consignment shops, it makes them a treasure hunt. I always make it a practice to make two passes through so I don't miss too much. Even then, there is no way to take in everything.

  7. That looks like a cool place. I don't tend to buy vintage either, unless something really speaks to me. That is a super cool curio. If you think you'll regret not going back....go back for sure! :)

  9. Ooh, I love Treasure Mart! You took photos of some of my favorite parts, too --love it when a shop color-coordinates their big mishmash.

So...did you get the cabinet? Looks like a good deal!

  11. Oh another thing I wanted to mention was I like your list of challenge blogs. One of the things I would like to change is the amount of classes I take and start doing more challenges, so I will definitely be checking out your list more often :)
