Pages from Christmas Past, Part 2

This is the second post in a 3-part series of Christmas layouts from past years. You can see Part 1 here. Today, my pages focus on Christmas Day at my Mom and Dad's house.

Food traditions. Lately, this has meant grilled bacon-wrapped scallops for appetizers, then a lunch of lasagna, garlic bread, and 12-layer jello. Everyone brings Christmas cookies. I'm happy to report we'll be following the same menu again this year. (p.s. it doesn't matter how cold it is outside; Dad will be grilling)

Opening presents. The highlight is our annual Gift Exchange which has included the practical and the ridiculous. Just like Forrest Gump and his box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna git.

All The Rest. Those miscellaneous photos that just define family.

With the obligatory visual triangle.

What are your Christmas traditions? Ours have certainly changed over the years as the family has grown up. The youngest child is now 14, so our Christmas celebration is decidedly more adult these days. We still have lots of fun being together.

  3. Your pages are BEAUTIFUL! I love the design of your layouts! As for traditions at our house - we've been starting our own traditions with our little one - it's been really fun to do things with just the three of us - one of them is opening up presents on Christmas Day with just us three - I love those moments!

  4. Enjoyed seeing your pages and reading about traditions. I really need to create a layout about our tradition of eating pie at 10am on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

  5. Awesome pages Sue! I love that your Dad BBQs not matter how cold it is. I lived in FL for many years and BBQing at Christmas was part of that tradition. My parents are still in FL, and I will be there this year, enjoying the sunshine.

  9. Great Christmas layouts. Punched squares work so well for many photos. I just need to remember not to zoom in too close on my subjects for all of the photos.

I love the picture of your hubby BBQing outside. Mine would do that in -30C weather in his summer shorts, crazy guy.

  12. Hi again.. traditions. wonderful layouts. =)love how you get lots of pictures on them. you are making me want to scrap some holiday memories... when I was a kid, we use to go to the neighbors every Christmas Eve. I loved listening to the radio and the reports of where Santa was. A lot different back then.. no Internet radar.. lol. =) the DH and I have had varied routines over the years, but lately I like that we stay home on Christmas day and cook a big dinner..we let others come to us.
