I've finished Nic Howard's Color Class over at Big Picture Classes. You can find my post on the warm colors here. The remaining colors were green, blue, purple, black and white. I love the 6x6 mini album, both for the visual appeal and the information I now have at my fingertips.
I love green. It was my grandmother's favorite color, and one that I can wear in many shades. Blue was my other grandmother's favorite color. I only wear royal or navy blue; other shades just don't do much for me. In scrapbooking, I like to combine these colors on layouts.
Purple. Growing up, I had a purple bedroom with pale purple walls, purple flowered wallpaper, purple shag carpet and a purple desk. It was the 70's, what can I say? I do love to wear a deep, royal purple, but I rarely use purple in my scrapping. Here is one layout where I love the touches of purple. The photos are so busy, so the minimal approach works for me.
The class ended with neutral colors, focusing on black and white. Meet my black cat, Chessie. I wear black almost every day; it's the color I build the rest of my wardrobe around. I like to wear a white turtleneck under a sweater, but that's about it. But I love a white background on my scrapbook pages.
We also touched on the neutral colors brown, kraft and grey. Love kraft and brown, don't use much grey. I think color is fascinating and love considering what color combinations to use on my pages and cards. Are you drawn to color when you create, or does some other element get your juices flowing?
