Wonderful Weekend

This past weekend, we drove to Grosse Pointe Shores and arrived at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House. Phil was signed up for a 5-hour class with a professional digital landscape photographer, while I toured the house, walked the grounds and perused the gift shop on my own. Here are a few results of Phil's photo shoot.

Entering the grounds of the estate, approaching the house...
The house itself, Cotswold Cottage style with 60 rooms and over 30, 000 square feet...
and the 87 acres surrounding the estate, including a cove, lakefront property, man made lagoon and gardens.
I had the best time walking the grounds with this app for my iPod. If you are interested in history or landscape architecture, you can download it and take the tour, no matter where you live.  We plan to return here during each of the seasons for additional photo shoots. I love stepping back in time, so for me this place is magical.
